Celtdown at the Meltdown

The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown presents an evening of traditional Irish and Scottish music.  A Celtic Gathering with highland pipes and song will open the show.  Next, Joanna Hyde, the talented fiddler with the Colorado College Bluegrass Ensemble has years of experience playing Celtic music and will be joined by her brother Iain on guitar. They will perform traditional and progressive tunes and songs. Durango’s own Giants Dance will follow with traditional Irish ballads and dance tunes played on fiddle, flute, penny whistle, bodhran and guitar.  

Our featured band will be the Knockabouts from the Flagstaff who are equally at home on the concert stage and in the pub. They will also leave the microphones behind to host a jam session at the Irish Embassy starting at 9:30 pm and open to any musicians who wish to join in.
