The world-renowned Henry Strater Theatre is one of the oldest and most prestigious continually running theatres in Colorado, tallying over 47 years of quality performances. Formally known as the Diamond Circle Theatre, the space has been extensively renovated, and now houses top of the line stage lighting and surround sound equipment for your pleasure. The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown is very fortunate to have this intimate theater as our main venue.
The Durango Arts Center is a multi-use venue for music and the arts. The Arts Center hosts a great variety of shows and performances by local and national acts. The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown is pleased to announce our newest mainstage venue, the Wild Horse Saloon. The Wild Horse is known around town as a country bar by night and for the Meltdown weekend it is transformed into a great venue for those who want to let loose. With room for dancing and a large space in the back for socializing while allowing other patrons to enjoy the music in the front, the Wild Horse is a welcome addition to the Meltdown.
Durango Discovery Museum is the Four Corner’s hands-on, interactive science center, providing innovative learning and unleashing human potential. Located on the banks of the Animas River in a historic coal-fired, steam-generated AC powerplant, Durango Discovery Museum presents a wide range of programs, exhibits, and activities for curious minds of all ages.
We are committed to developing a science center that is welcoming and engaging to all communities in the Four Corners and beyond. We strive to be inclusive because we believe science and technology are for everyone.
